Dinamo Riga is preparing for a fiercely competitive and deserved 2-0 win over Vladivostok.

After six defeats in a row Dinamo Riga was today under Admiral Vladivostok under pressure. Admiral did not fare any better, the East Conference team was in the same situation – they also suffered six consecutive defeats.

The hosts hosted Gudlevskis today, and Riga went into the game with great dedication. Dzerins had the first chance after a few seconds – shortly afterwards it was Maione, but Serebryakov was sure. Also with a shot of Meja the keeper showed his class. Only after five minutes the first gagging for Admiral by Polak – his shot passes just by the gate. After a great pass from Maione to Videll this had only Serebryakov before him, but the Russian goalie retained the upper hand. Shortly thereafter Admiral came into play better and had good chances, but Butuzov, Streltsov and Kozlovsky fail Gudlevskis. The last chance in this section had Darzins but Serebryakov also held this shot.

After the break Maione had the lead on the racket, shortly afterwards it was Myttynen who forgave his chance. On the side of Admiral, Ugolnikov found a good opportunity that destroyed Gudlevskis. Dinamo was now getting stronger and Admiral beat a harder game. A check with the stick of Taratunin to Clark was not punished. Riga came to a 4-3 people power play and literally laced the guests. Maione has been on the attack again and again, forgetting his chance as well as Redlihs. After a pass from Shulenin, Pavlovs barely misses the puck. A few minutes before the break, Maione was again close by, but Serebryakov fought off a great save.

There were 68 seconds played in the final period, as Riga had a power play. It took only five seconds for the redemptive opening goal for Riga – Maione pulls off the blue linei and it was 1-0 (42.). Shortly thereafter, Streltsov missed his chance to equalize, while Gudlevskis summoned in this situation, a penalty for delaying game. Konkov played through the defense, puts on Glazachev, but again Gudlevskis was on the spot. Riga did not fall behind and Videll failed to Serebryakov and in a chance of Sotnieks the Goalie prevented with a splendid save another goal. Vladivostok did not give up – Kozlovsky and Antropov could not beat Gudlevskis. In a quick counterattack Redlihs drove alone to Serebryakov, but he kept his nerve and held the puck. Towards the end of the game, the pressure from the guests was increasing, Kubat forgives the big opportunity. Admiral even came to a power play and took the goalie from the ice. Riga defended with a man and mouse, and Aliauskas manages with a wide tee by means of short-handed-empty-net-goal 2-0 (60.). For the young Lithuanian international, it was the first goal in the fourth game. This success was quite important for Riga and deserves to end a long defeat series.
