Latvia’s young international Renars Krastenbergs gets a try-out contract at Wheeling Nailers in the ECHL.
Renars Krastenbergs already started in the U16 national team of his country and also participated in U18 and U20 World Championships. For the past two years he has been involved with the Canadian club Oshawa Generals in the OHL and has always reached the play-offs. Last year Krastenberg scored 38 points (21 goals / 17 assists). Now Latvian hope is moving to the US to continue his career at Wheeling Nailers.
The 21-year-old left winger has also played the first matches in Latvia’s A team. Krastenbergs would like to present itself in order to have the opportunity to be in the squad with the IIHF World Championship in Slovakia next year.
