Guntis Galvins, 80-times Latvian international, signs a contract with Czech Extraliga-Club HC Trinec.
The 32-year-old Guntis Galvin can certainly be described as a globetrotter, since he was at various clubs in the various European leagues, such as u.a. KHL (Dinamo Riga, Yugra), EBEL (Shekesfehervar, Bolzano), SHL (AIK), under contract. Most recently, he worked for the Latvian club HK Kurbads.
From now on, the 80-times national player plays for HC Trinec, a club from the Czech Extraliga. The Czech Republic is not new territory for Galvins, he worked for HC Vsetin in 2006-07. At the moment, things are not going well for Trinec in the championship and CHL, so the club’s leaders were forced to reinforce the defensive in the team with more routine.
His career in the Latvian national team began in 2003 at the U18 World Cup. Overall, he took part in two U18, two U-20 World Championships. He has already played 12 (!) Participations with the A-Team, playing 80 games. Of course, Galvins‘ next goal is the 2021 World Cup, which will be held in Latvia and Belarus.
